Westin Papagayo

My visit to The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal in November, 2019.

This all suite resort is set amid a lush tropical setting on 2,400 acres of land. Because of the spaciousness of the property, it didn’t feel full even though the property was at 90% occupancy during my visit. Many guests were off site on tours either guided or on their own.

In my opinion, it boasts one of the nicer beaches that I saw of all of the properties in Costa Rica. The property enjoys access to a long stretch of beach in a cove shape which makes it quite protected. The incline into the water appeared to be quite gentle, versus a steep access. There is however a very limited selection of lounge chairs and shade.

Beach Area

All of the rooms are quite spacious. As of my visit in November of 2019, they were in the process of refreshing and upgrading the rooms. The renewed rooms featured a more modern feel with the removal of the pillars separating the bedroom from the sitting area. As well as using the natural woods is the decor.
