JW Marriott Guanacaste is a great alternative to the typical all-inclusive resort. Particularly if you are planning a more independent trip and doing more exploration off-site, but still want comfortable accommodations, and great cuisine. The resort has a very Spanish hacienda feel and layout, from the inner courtyard, and hammocks for lounging in.
