We’ve stayed at the Finest for our personal holiday now 3 times in 2 years. David my son said it should be renamed “The Amazingest”! (He was 5 at the time, but it does speak to the impression it made on him as a child.)
It is a property that has one section that caters to families and the other side is designated adults only.
What struck me most about the family side was not just the great facilities to entertain the little one, but the attitude of the staff. On numerous occasions in conversations with staff they would quote the property manager, (also a dad of 3 young boys), “keep the children happy and the parents will be happy”. Later when we met the manager and told him of our conversations with he staff he exclaimed happily, “oh good, they are listening!”
Not to downplay the facilities, they really are amazing including 2 waterparks, one on land and one a floating obstacle course in the ocean.
Waterparks
There was also a giant chess set, and water toys such as a catarmaran.
Dining
Without a double the food at The Finest is one of it’s greatest strengths. One day at lunch I was following the chef who had a thermometer verifying the temperature of the cerviche, now that is attention to detail.
The buffet restaurant they call the marketplace is huge with an incredible selection. Of note was the huge bowl of fresh fruit including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, not typical at most all-inclusives. The chef told he me he also made his own granola, and boy could you tell, it was delicious. There was also a fresh juice bar, with at least 12 different combinations of fruit juices and mixtures.
Restaurants we tried:
- The Market Kitchen
- Brass Steak House
- Duke’s Lobster & Seafood
- Insieme Trattoria
- Tino & Tapas
- Le Petit
- Surf & Turf
- Las Dunas Beach House
- Legends
- Le Cocinita Food Truck
Insieme Trattoria
I am absolutely thrilled when I can have a served lunch with a view of the ocean.

Le Petit French Restaurant
I would be remiss if I failed to mention dinner at the adults only Le Petit French Restaurant. The ambiance was quiet and romantic. The grilled scallops were exquisite, (unfortunately my photos don’t do them justice).
Themed Nights
An incredible amount of work goes into preparing for the special themed nights. We enjoyed both an Indian and Pirate theme dinner, complete with elaborate decorations, menu, and entertainment.
Without hesitation, I would return to The Finest, as well as recommend it to clients for their vacation.
