The Riu Palace Riviera Maya has an amazing location in the gated community of Playacar, which is about a 15-minute walk to the famous 5th Avenue located in Playa Del Carmen.
As a long-time supporter of Riu Palaces, the Riu Palace Riviera Maya felt very familiar upon entry. That really is one of the strengths of the brand. The design layout typically includes a grand lobby with marble floors and large chandeliers; symmetrical gardens, perfectly manicured gardens with fountains and a large pool with views of the sea or ocean, a compelling first impression to be sure. Perhaps one reason I choose it as a personal holiday resort for 4 different trips.
The Beach
A strong reason for returning so many times to the property is the spectacular beach. It is long for walking and deep with plenty of natural shade from the palm trees, so never an issue for getting a shaded area on the beach.
