European new reports that the EU is proposing to ban all flights to European of all aircraft operated by all Indonesian airlines, this ban may come into effect as early as July 4th. Currently no Indonesian airlines fly to Europe, the ban is seen as a way to advise European citizens that the EU aviation safety council has very significant concerns about the safety of all Indonesian operated aircraft. All Indonesian airlines including national carrier Garuda are to be banned from the European Union.
An updated blacklist of unsafe airlines also includes new firms from Angola, Bulgaria, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
Indonesian carriers do not currently fly to Europe so the ban serves partly as a warning to consumers not to use these airlines anywhere in the world.
