Toronto to Newark with Air Canada, arrived at terminal A and transferred to terminal C, used the Continental transfer bus, it took 25 minutes with stops and if you take the bus, you do not have to re clear security.

This was my first international, trip with Continental, they exceeded my expectations, on time, food good, service with a thank you.

On arrival in Beijing’s new international terminal, I had to clear customs, take the short transfer train to the new domestic terminal, check in for the domestic flight and find the gate, this took less than 1 hour. Customs officers were thorough but efficient, most staff speak english or enough to assist you and there are plenty of signs in English, the airport experience was much smoother and less intimidating than, a transfer in London, Frankfurt or Rome.

The Air China flight from Beijing to Chongqing, was on time, a meal was served, which was very good for a 2 hour flight and it was not at an extra charge.
The seats, well they were a perfect fit for me, not a millimetre of extra space. And a happy smile, at the end of the flight along with the standard thank you for flying with us announcement, all of the cabin crew line up in the aisle and bow to the guests in unison, a nice touch.
