Ryanair to Add Pay Toilets on Aircraft
Ryanair to add pay toilets
European LCC / discount airline Ryanair, already and industry leader in creating new revenue opportunities on it’s aircraft, has confirmed that they will be redesigning some of their Boeing 737 airplanes toilets. The new configuration will according to published sources, have only one toilet on board the Ryanair planes for 189 passengers, and it will be a pay toilet costing either a Pound or Euro to spend a penny.
The logic: If the Passengers have to pay to use the toilet, they will if they can go before the flight or wait until they land, reducing the number to visits to the on board loo, enabling Ryanair to remove 2 of the current 3 bathrooms and add 6 seats.
The math, how much additional revenue will Ryanair make on a flight, if half the passengers use the on-board toilet and pay a Euro, that’s 94EU per flight and reduced cleaning costs. The ticket, taxes, fees, baggage charges and other assorted Ryanair charges for the sale of the extra 6 seats.
On the negative, a reduction in the customer satisfaction rating of Ryanair which is reputidly not a major concern of this airline, and what I expect will be significant drop in onboard revenue from beverage sales.
